2014 - We Are On A Break!Friday, February 7, 2014
We had a great 2013. New boy, Tian, slotted right into the band and we hardly missed a beat. We even managed to meet up with our old band-mates, the Dawe brothers, for the charity event, Rock Diabetes in November. In fact, we rocked so hard last year that a few things broke and need fixing.
Anyone who has been paying attention will have realized we've been pretty quiet for the last few weeks since Christmas. The really eagle-eyed (read uber fans - yes, both of you!) may have seen we have just cancelled a few gigs too. Rock Dog is indeed taking a few months off from gigging. But never fear, we will be back stronger and even better (if that is possible!) in the summer. And we are not being idle. We are working on new material, both covers and original songs.
We won't disappoint when we hit the circuit again in June. Hope to see you there!
New guitarist and Rock Dog goes from strength to strength!Monday, August 5, 2013
We've been quiet on the website for the last few months, but we're pleased to announce that we have a new guitarist. Welcome to Tian Lee!
Tian has been with the band for a few months now and is up to speed. He already has a couple of gigs under his belt and we are all looking forward to playing again this Saturday, 10th August at the Prestbury Sports Bar in Warminster.
We have a few more gigs lined up this year and will soon be booking for 2014. Hope you can come and see us play soon!
New beginnings and search for a guitaristSaturday, February 23, 2013
It is with heavy hearts that Rock Dog says goodbye to guitarist Chris Dawe. Chris has been with the band since its beginnings back in 2007 and has been an integral part of its sound and stage presence since then. With his flamboyant, blistering solos and sense of humour both on- and off-stage, he will be tough to replace and will be missed by the other members of the band and the audience alike.
He is leaving the band on the best of terms and we wish him all the best in the future.
As a result of Chris leaving, Rock Dog is currently holding auditions for a new guitarist. If you think you have what it takes to join the best rock band in the south west, contact us.
We have also had to cancel some gigs and we may well have to cancel more, depending on how quickly we can find a replacement. We hope to be out gigging again soon. See you then!
Goodbye old year, hello newSaturday, January 5, 2013
2012 was a great year for Rock Dog. We went from strength to strength and really seemed to hit our stride in the second half of the year, with gig after gig being "the best yet". Everything has just seemed to click and our performances reflect this. Rock Diabetes was a stand out moment for us. It was great to be part of such a great event, with so many talented bands on the bill.
We have even started writing our own material and are looking forward to playing some of our own tunes in the gigs this year (though don't worry - we'll still play mostly the great rock and metal covers our audiences have learnt to expect from us)!
We have lots of gigs lined up for 2013 and it looks set to be another corker. Hope you can join us!

Merry Christmas and a Rocking New YearSaturday, December 10, 2011
Well, that's it for this year. No more gigs till next year. Now it is time for us to prepare for the onslaught of rock that starts on January 7th 2012 at the Rising Sun, North Bradley. The gig is to celebrate Damon, the landlord's, birthday, so should be a corker. In the meantime, we'll retire to the studio and rehearse some new material to wow you all with.
Have a great Christmas, and see you in 2012!
New dates added to the booking calendarSaturday, October 1, 2011
We had a great time at the Reckless in Bristol, followed by our second gig at the Riverside in Midsomer Norton. The Midsomer crowd seemed to take its time warming up, but in the end the let the ROCK embrace them! We've been invited back for more next year, so hopefully they'll be ready for some hard rocking!
Quite a few new gigs have been added to the bookings in the last few days, and we're in the process of booking more, so keep an eye on this site for information on what is coming up.
Keep on Rocking!
Hot Rocking at The Rising Sun!Thursday, August 11, 2011
The Rising Sun gig was a blast. Lots of friends turned up to see the band and once again the band attracted attention from the media, getting interviewed in the break by a local journalist. Let's see if anything gets published.
Next gig is The Reckless Engineer in Bristol. We always have a great time there so we're all looking forward to a great night. Hope to see you there!
Beer, Rock and The Cock!Sunday, July 3, 2011
Rock Dog's performance at the Cheddar Ales Beer Festival was a triumph. Despite all manner of technical problems, the band gave a show that pleased the several hundred strong audience and the organisers of the festival alike. Rock Dog has been asked back next year, so watch this space for the confirmed date.
The week after the Beer Festival, Rock Dog played its first gig in Warminster at The Cock Inn. We played a great gig to a small crowd that included a local journalist, Charles Drought, who wrote a piece about the night and took some photos. Once the article is available we will reproduce it on this site.
Next gig, The Rising Sun in North Bradley. Hope to see you there!
